फ्लिपकार्ट समूह ने कहा कि उसने जीआईसी, कनाडा पेंशन योजना निवेश बोर्ड (सीपीपी इनवेस्टमेंट), सॉफ्टबैंक विजन फंड-2 और वॉलमार्ट की अगुवाई में 3.6 अरब अमेरिकी डॉलर (लगभग 26,805.6 करोड़ रुपये) जुटाए हैं।
कंपनी ने बताया कि वित्त पोषण के इस दौर में उसका मूल्यांकन 37.6 अरब अमेरिकी डॉलर किया गया।
तेजी से बढ़ते भारतीय ई-कॉमर्स बाजार में अमेजन, रिलायंस जियोमार्ट और अन्य के साथ मुकाबला कर रही फ्लिपकार्ट ने कहा कि वह कर्मचारियों, प्रौद्योगिकी, आपूर्ति श्रृंखला और बुनियादी ढांचे में निवेश जारी रखेगी।
वित्त पोषण के मौजूदा दौर में सॉवरेन फंड डिस्रप्टएड, कतर इन्वेस्टमेंट अथॉरिटी, खजाना नैशनल बरहाद के साथ ही मार्की इनवेस्टर्स टेनसेंट, विलुहबी कैपिटल, अंतरा कैपिटल, फ्रैंकलिन टेम्पलटन और टाइगर ग्लोबल ने भागीदारी की।
फ्लिपकार्ट ने एक बयान में कहा कि निवेश के इस दौर में समूह का मूल्य 37.6 अरब डॉलर (करीब 2.79 लाख करोड़ रुपये) आंका गया।
फ्लिपकार्ट समूह के मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी कल्याण कृष्णमूर्ति ने कहा, ‘‘ हम किराना सहित लाखों छोटे और मध्यम भारतीय व्यवसायों के विकास में तेजी लाने पर ध्यान केंद्रित करेंगे।’’
उन्होंने कहा कि फ्लिपकार्ट नई श्रेणियों में निवेश जारी रखेगा और उपभोक्ताओं के अनुभवों को बदलने और विश्व स्तरीय आपूर्ति श्रृंखला विकसित करने के लिए भारत में निर्मित प्रौद्योगिकी का लाभ उठाएगा।
