बेंगलुरु । कर्नाटक में आज बुधवार सुबह 11 बजे बसवराज बोम्मई ने राज्य के मुख्यमंत्री के रूप में शपथ ली। बोम्मई ने कर्नाटक के 23वें मुख्यमंत्री के रूप में शपथ ली। अभी सिर्फ बी. बोम्मई ने ही शपथ ली है यानी मंत्रिमंडल का विस्तार बाद में किया जाएगा। कर्नाटक राजभवन के ग्लास हाउस में राज्यपाल थावरचंद गहलोत ने उन्हें पद और गोपनीयता की शपथ दिलाई। बता दें कि बी एस येदियुरप्पा के मुख्यमंत्री पद से इस्तीफा देने के बाद कर्नाटक के गृह मंत्री बसवराज बोम्मई को सीएम पद के लिए चुना गया था। बसवराज बोम्मई अभी तक कर्नाटक के गृहमंत्री थे, जोकि अब मुख्यमंत्री बन गए हैं। आज से बोम्मई यहां के मुखिया होंगे। बसवराज बोम्मई लिंगायत समुदाय से आते हैं। इनके पिता एसआर बोम्मई भी 1988 में 281 दिन के लिए मुख्यमंत्री रहे थे।
बोम्मई वर्तमान में कर्नाटक के गृह मंत्री के रूप में कार्यरत हैं।
बसवराज बोम्मई ने अपने राजनीतिक जीवन की शुरुआत छ्वष्ठ के साथ की और बाद में 2008 में भाजपा में शामिल हो गए। दो बार रूरुष्ट और तीन बार विधायक रहे बोम्मई 2008 के कर्नाटक राज्य चुनावों में हावेरी जिले के शिगगांव निर्वाचन क्षेत्र से कर्नाटक विधानसभा के लिए चुने गए थे। बोम्मई मैकेनिकल इंजीनियरिंग से ग्रेजुएट हैं।
