मुठभेड़ तब शुरू हुई जब पुलिस और सेना की एक संयुक्त टीम ने इलाके की घेराबंदी की और आतंकवादियों की मौजूदगी के बारे में विशेष जानकारी के आधार पर तलाशी अभियान शुरू किया।
जैसे ही सुरक्षा बल उस स्थान पर पहुंचे, जहां आतंकवादी छिपे हुए थे, उन्होंने सुरक्षाबलों पर गोली चला दी, जिससे मुठभेड़ शुरू हो गई।
